Cruise Day Twenty - 14th Day @ Sea

Thursday, 28 January 2016

The ship is showing a bit more movement as she clips along at a very respectable 20.5 knots on a slight sea. The sky is overcast again and the temperature is up to 28 °C with a continuation of the tropical humidity. Laps on Deck 14 followed by breakfast. Watched some tennis and read the Kindle as we filled in time for the Destination Lecture. The destinations of Maputo and Richards Bay were given a brief coverage. There was mention of some significant petty crime in Maputo which has raise doubts in Jenny's mind about going ashore. Will have to see how that goes.

The talk by Lyn Hurry covered the topic of famous speeches and the techniques that can be used in preparing for a public speech. She warned against lengthy speeches, Stand Up, Speak Up and Shut Up sums up her advice. Sadly her slides containing mostly text are generally unreadable. A light lunch from the International Café and back to the Theatre.

Today's Movie starred Russell Crowe in the Biography "A Beautiful Mind" the story of a famous Professor of Mathematics with serious mental disorders who went on to win the Nobel Prize. A heavy story line that had us wondering what was reality.

Formal Night tonight and the Captain's Cocktail Party. The most frequent cruiser on board has sailed over 2,000 nights. There was also a large number of repeat Princess cruisers, about 1,700 out of the 2,048 passengers.

We were only a little late for our dinner. The dining room looked most elegant with the majority taking the trouble to dress appropriately. Attendance was up from the numbers on recent casual nights. Even so I estimate that over 25% of the seats were vacant.

Went to the Theatre for a sneak preview of tonight's show and figured it was not worth lining up for. Back to the cabin and sorted out today's images. I took a photo of a painting in the art gallery, if you have time you can view it by following this link to the image for Today

Wishing you good health and safe travel.
Have a great day and stay well.
Cheers .. Tony
